Watching the blue hedgehog and the pocket monsters spin-dash to the gold ring and unleash their elemental powers widened my 4-year-old eyes and led me to dedicating my studies to frontend and web development, UI/UX design, and media studies.
In high school and my freshman year of college, I was unsure how to navigate through the vast tech industry, whether to go the creative route with graphics and design, or technical with programming and engineering.
I thought about how to apply my creativity to my technical endeavors. I recalled how I love that in animated content, the sky is always a beautiful blue with fluffy clouds, websites have interaction that makes its usage smooth and easy, and video games have interfaces that absorb the viewer’s attention.
I realized that software and media require both creativity and technical skills to make them not only usable, but also enjoyable.
My endeavors revolve around the frontend, including UI/UX design and human-computer interaction. How users interact and feel towards a piece of software and media is crucial to its success. I enjoy collaborating with others to create visually-appealing and interactive media using both technical and creative methods.
I want to create software and media in which users can jump through the screen and fly into a digital utopia where they can take a journey, have fun, feel free, enjoy themselves, and escape reality.
